Have you ever wondered why you can become recover from a cold after few days rest?Do you think it is just because you go and see doctor and take a medicine?

Mostly, we get cold is due to an attack of virus. Do you think we can recover is due to we have taken the medicine punctually? But why same medicine, some people just cannot easily recover and some people recover faster?

To tell you a truth that there is no medicine against virus. So what is the medicine for? It is just to let us have more time to rest peacefully and let our immune system army to take its job to battle with the virus. It is a very complicated processes how our immune system works.

With 8 simple pictures, we will easily understand about how our immune system army works against our enemy when we are sick like suffering a cold.

1. 1st step: A Macrophage, our body garbage man, is engulfing invading viruses using its numerous tentacles. This cleansing roles make the macrophage almost like a garbage man of the body.

2. 2nd step: The macrophage signals other immune cells to the battle field to help by displayng pieces of digested virus (antigen) on its surface.

3. 3rd step: A helper T cell responds to this call for help and binds to the macrophage.

4. 4th step: This union causes the release of interleukin, tumor necrosis factor and interferon.

5. 5th step: These immune chemicals cause other immune cells to proliferate. B cells multiply and produce antibodies.

6. 6th step: Killer T cels begin to shoot holes in virus-infected cells.

7. 7th step: Antibodies (immunoglobulins) lock onto the viruses, signaling complements to destroy the viruses and macrophages to engulf them.

8. 8th step: When the infection is brought under control, suppressor T cells turn off activated immune cells. Some memory cells remain so that the body will instantly defeat the same virus strain should it attack us again. Such a memory mechanism is also That is also employed and that is why we get immune to some diseases after we have the vaccination injection.

Ok, with these simple pictures, now we are easily understand why we can recover from a cold with the help of our immune system army. But, we have to bear in mind that, if and only if our immune system army is strong and then only we can win the battle, otherwise vice versa.

Running nose, having common cold and continuous sneezing bring your body overall weariness. This is really can make anyone very irritable. I believe most of us, when in such condition, the first thing we have do is – go and get a pill and believe it will relieve us from cold and recover . It is easily reachable as those pills come in the form of cold medicines, cough suppressants, antibiotics and pain-killers are sold in pharmacy and even 24 hours retail shops like 7-eleven, etc.

I am sad that if a simple important general sense that not many people know a cold is cause by a virus.

Even worse, most people still assume a medicine can kill virus. They don’t know even how advanced our technology nowadays, we still cannot find a cure for a disease caused by virus. It means no medication a disease for virus!

But why so many people has the wrong concept that those pills can help them recover? This is the effectiveness of advertising repeatedly in the media that keep showing the same image of a patient recover from cold after taking pills. But is it really true? I believe you know now!

Cold medicines may help suppress symptoms, but the virus continues to roam throughout the whole body. In fact, taking cold medicine could potentially make you suffer longer cold !

Scientists has agreed that minor colds should not be blindly treated. Nowadays, many doctors in advanced country also knew that and stop giving those pills easily. This is because those doctor understand that we will recover on our own after a few days with the help of our immune system.

Sneezing, sniffling and the need to clear the throat are the body’s way of telling us that our immune system army is fighting against a virus. These symptoms allow our body to get rid of the viral invader! So, if you use cold suppressants, you are actually stopping your immune system cleansing your body by throwing out those virus.

Sneezing throws the viruses out, and the mucus in a running nose and throat phlegm contain many trapped viruses that we easily expel. So, if you take a pill, you are actually not stopping the cold, but you are only temporarily suppressing the symptoms. By stopping an urge of sneezing, you are preventing your body from getting rid of the invaders!

Hence, even though it is very simple fact but yet we are not aware of it and we are actually putting our health at danger just because of our ignorance.

Finally, as i say, the most important to maintain our health is to understand and having a correct health wisdom. To do the right thing we have to know what is the right thing first.
